What excites me more than seeing the beautiful, Frieda Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) on screen, is watching another Julian Schnabel movie. If you recall, Julian directed two amazing movies, Basquait & The Diving Bell And The Butterfly. Both are in my top five- favs of all time and I'm sure that Miral will follow.
Miral tells the story of an orphaned, Palestinian girl growing up in war-torn Jerusalem in 1948. I love that Frieda is taking a Charlize Theron risk and not just playing the "pretty-girl."
The film opens March 25.
